Over the 18 months, under the leadership of Sean Castle, incremental steps towards big changes have been happening at Fairfax Academy (part of Fairfax Multi-Academy Trust). Attendance is nearly 2% above the national average of 91% and continues to improve.
Persistent absence is way below the national averages and continues to fall.
Suspensions reduced dramatically in Sean’s first year, and again have halved this academic year; achieved through a clear and firm focus on behaviour for learning, with the introduction of a standardised Behaviour Curriculum which supports all staff.
Progress at Year 11 in-year improvement predicted to see continued improvement.

We are seeking a Literacy Co-ordinator, Teacher of English to join our well-led and motivated team committed to continuous improvement.
