The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our Central Finance Team to deliver a high quality compliant value driven procurement service across the Trust..


Trust Central Services are based at Smith’s Wood Academy and include HR and Finance. This role is based primarily at Smiths Wood Academy we are however able to offer hybrid working ( one day a week from home).

The Finance Team are a key part of FMAT's centralised function providing invaluable support to senior leaders across the Trust allowing them to focus on transforming the futures of all our students.


Main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Delivering a high-quality, compliant, and value-driven procurement service across all schools within the Trust.
  • Reporting to the Head of Finance Operations, the Procurement Manager will provide timely, accurate procurement and financial insights to support strategic decision-making and operational planning.
  • The postholder will line manage the Procurement Administrator and Finance Assistants, ensuring the effective procurement operations


The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge and experience including:

  • The ability to achieve optimal commercial solutions whilst maintaining credibility and a long term supplier relationship.
  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers/ co workers and suppliers.
  • Extensive understanding of procurement processes.
